CorSport: Milan and Juventus battling for Sassuolo forward who has shone in Serie B

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to do battle with their Serie A rivals Juventus for the signing of Sassuolo-owned striker Gianluca Scamacca, a report claims.

The 21-year-old is on loan at Serie B side Ascoli from Sassuolo and has scored 12 goals and added one assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this season. Milan have been repeatedly linked with a move as they look to reinforce their attacking department with young talent.

According to the latest from il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), Milan and Juventus are ready to challenge each other for the young Italian striker.

It is widely expected that Scamacca’s future will be in Serie A but possibly not with Roberto De Zerbi’s Sassuolo team, because his agent has received expressions of interest from plenty of different clubs.

It is possible that Milan would use him on a rotation basis, allowing him to develop in the shadow of another striker who is more first-team ready.
