CorSport: Milan could miss out on €23m of income as doubts arise over future of duo

AC Milan could be set to miss out on a windfall of over €20m as the future of two defenders is in doubt, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), takes stock of the Milan market. It is obvious by now that the the Champions League will be fundamental in terms of income that can be spent on potential transfers, but every penny is needed and there is a doubt about two players who are out on loan with an option to buy.

Among these the names of Andrea Conti and Mattia Caldara stand out, currently at Parma and Atalanta respectively. The former has played 8 out of 11 games as a starter since joining in January, and the option to buy – set at €7m – become an obligation only if Parma achieve survival.

Caldara meanwhile left for Atalanta on an 18-month loan in January of last year. To buy him outright, Atalanta would have to shell out €16m, and the constant injuries he has suffered make this possibility quite remote.
