AC Milan have begun talks over a deal for Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara, according to a report, but a high asking price has been set.
Today’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) explains that Milan have been following Kamara for some time as Rossoneri scouts are particularly attentive to the talents who play in France. Not only that, but the paper adds that there have been some contacts involving Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara in recent weeks.
Marseille are asking for over €25m to sell the the 21-year-old despite the fact his contract expires in June 2022 and he does not seem to be close to a renewal. That means it is a negotiable price though but Milan must be aware of competition, especially from Premier League teams.
Milan want a defensive midfielder who has the physicality and ability to win duels that means they would be a good replacement for Kessie when necessary, and Kamara also offers an additional solution as he can be deployed as a central defender.
