CorSport: Milan may ‘sacrifice’ Piatek in order to keep Leao

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could sacrifice striker Krzysztof Piatek in order to keep Rafael Leao at the club, according to a report.

Recent reports have suggested that Barcelona are interested in signing Leao, who arrived at Milan in the summer for €28m and scored his first goal for the club two weeks ago.

However, an update from La Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday – as cited by MilanNews.it – claimed that Milan are not aware of any interest from Barcelona in the Portuguese starlet.

As per Calciomercato.it – who cite il Corriere dello Sport – there is a contrast between the constant improvement that Leao has shown against the decline of Piatek.

For that reason, the paper claims that the club’s leadership could consider sacrificing Piatek to keep Leao, who has ‘already been targeted by top clubs’.

Calciomercato.it recently claimed that Barcelona want Piatek to replace Luis Suarez, while Pianeta Milan suggested earlier on Thursday that Manchester United are also keen on a move.
