CorSport: Milan not giving up on Taremi despite Porto’s high asking price

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hunting for the right opportunity to strengthen the attack before the window closes and Mehdi Taremi remains a possible lead.

Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) takes stock of the negotiations for Taremi of Porto, starting by stating that the player would like to make the move to the Rossoneri and has approved of the destination.

The asking price high is €20m and this is considered high by the Milan management, considering that his deal expires in 10 months and the player is 31 years of age.

In Portugal they believe that Milan will still try, but Portuguese clubs often go through the last year of a player’s contract without the obsession of having to sell him.

Despite this, negotiations for Taremi could develop in the last few days of the window. Milan and Porto could continue to talk about the Iran international until the end of the mercato.

  1. Why are we sticking with this player considering last year of contract, upside down performance tjis season, not too young player, and porto will never sell this player under 10 M including wage. Just move on to AZ striker 😀

  2. This guy had 31 goals and 14 assists in the 2022-23 season in 51 games, almost one goal contribution per game. He is clearly an upgrade for us. He’s got UCL experience. I hope it gets done. The fact that he hasn’t been great the last couple of games probably just means that all the talk of selling him is messing with his head.
