CorSport: Milan ready to sacrifice €25m man and ‘send signal’ to rivals by signing Tonali

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to make a concrete attempt to sign Sandro Tonali from Brescia this summer, a report claims, with an offensive ready.

The Rossoneri have been extensively linked with a move for Tonali by multiple outlets over the past week, with the 19-year-old regarded as one of the brightest midfield prospects in Italian football.

According to what is being reported by il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), Milan are willing to try for Tonali and send a signal to the rest of the league. The player said confirmed on multiple occasions that he has been a Rossoneri fan since he was a child and perhaps this aspect could help a little.

Tonali would certainly be a starter at Milan, which competitors Juventus and Inter cannot guarantee him, and next year’s European Championships could be a big factor in that.

The Diavolo though must make some sales to be able to afford Tonali. Part of the money from the operation will come from savings on the salaries of Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura, who will leave the club at the end of their contracts once the season concludes.

The second step will be the sale of Lucas Paquetà, valued at €30million. The former Flamengo star has disappointed this season and the Rossoneri club plans to sell hm to have the resources available for the Tonali swoop, with €25m possibly enough.
