Luka Modric’s future is yet to be decided, according to a report, and AC Milan are still holding out hope that he will renew his contract.
Modric signed a one-year deal with Milan last summer and the parties added a one-year renewal clause as well. It can only be triggered by the Croatian himself, or at least it needs his go-ahead, so the Rossoneri don’t know whether he will stay or leave at the moment.

A message published on Instagram last night perhaps suggests that the veteran’s time at Milan has come to an end. On the other hand, depending on what happens in the next few weeks, Modric might change his mind.
Lots of factors at play
According to today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the chances of Modric staying obviously took a massive hit due to the Champions League failure. That said, his permanence is more linked to a competitive project in general, so the door isn’t completely closed.
Milan are very keen on keeping him, knowing that they wouldn’t just lose quality on the pitch but also a leader in the locker room. A locker room that could look very different next season, which would make his leadership even more important.
However, without a project to convince him (and perhaps more so a clear role for the season), Modric might entertain the idea of returning to Real Madrid. Not as a player, but rather to begin his career as a manager, with the Bernabeu side ready to welcome him back with open arms.
We need a new direction, besides if we get Glasner,he uses a double midfield pivot,strong and defensive players,Modric is not strong enough,or fast enough for that role,his play slowed us alot this season…

I agree Modric and Rabiot both did well in midfield, but that was not really Milan, it was a warped Allegri version, football was stifled and the mentality was strangled, before the last 6 weeks the results and being 2nd in the table created an illusion that Allegri was a genius.
But this was just that an illusion, previous seasons Milan came back many times because of our strong counter attacking but Allegri stopped that, 3 central defenders and 2 defensive midfielders against Calgary, in a must win game,, it never made sense.
But I for one would not be saddened to see Allegri, Modric and Rabiot go, I would want us again to become 1 of the best counter attacking teams in the world, where Leao and Pulisic can thrive and Jashari quick mind and turnover can be a major weapon.
That is why a real physicality strong and quick centre forward and quick full backs are needed, I would like to see Dodo or Palestra and have two main strikers to alternate as we will be in 3 competitions or switch with Leao or Pulisic, so Valovic and Moise Keene would be ideal
Yes sir, i agree. When i mentioned Modric i didn’t mean on his effect on the pitch as much as i meant on his influence in the locker room and his winning mentality. He was the only player with that kind of mentality, with additions of Rabiot and Pavlovic in lesser extent(grinta). All the other were behaving as high school kids and instagram starlets. And i do understand that it is hard to have a good mentality with the rotten core(owners and Ibra Wormtongue), maybe i’m wrong, but that is how i see it.
Which Jashari quick mind and turnover? He could have made 15 forward passes against Cagliari where forwards were running and he didn’t do 2. Imaginary attributes work only on football manager. He hasn’t shown this in the games he played, we were slower than with Modric.
I can understand where you are coming from, but under coach’s like Allegri, you have instructions you must follow or your benched it was obvious to everyone that Jashari was having to play Allegri’s way which was almost alien to him, Jashari real game is winning possession and the quick turnover, just like it is Leao’s game to isolate defenders on the left side and attack them to get to the by-line, but Allegri shut that down as well, a top 5 left sided player in the world and Allegri destroyed him
Yes, watch the Cagliari game again. Gimenez was in a run forward so many times, Jashari didn’t even see it. His vision is a joke. What, Allegri told him not to play the pass but told the forwards to run? Do 2+2.
I guess we will only really know once he plays under a different coach, but most definitely Milan should persist with him and not hand him over to Atlanta like CDK
Modric is a must keep, if they are to rebuild. Allegri was Capello’s solution to Milan’s rebirth? Haha Capello good choice…NOT! Milan need Excellent Management Not Cardinale and not Abrah. They need Galliani and Maldini desperate, and then we will have identity and rebirth to CL back!
