AC Milan are expected to address the right wing position during the summer transfer window and a target from January remains, a report claims.
The 2022-23 season highlighted several shortcomings in the Milan squad which, as Maldini stated, ‘is not ready to be competitive on several fronts’. Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias would both be good reserves, but they certainly cannot be starters in a Milan that wants to aspire to remain among the top sides in Europe in the years to come.
As Corriere dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) reports, the name of Saint-Maximin is still on the wish list. The 26-year-old is able to play both on the left and the right wing, meaning he would act both as a starter in place of the aforementioned Messias and Saelemaekers but also as Rafael Leao’s main reserve.
However, what made the operation difficult in January when Milan tried was the cost of the transfer free, which was between €30-35m.
Lets say we sell Messias and keep Salemakers,Saint Maximin is not gonna solve he is good but is not really a upgrade of Sale wich this season has 6 gols contribution his 3 years younger Maximin never got more then 10 gols contribution gonna cost at the very least 30+ million euros is injury prone and most likely is gonna ask for 4+ million euros of salary.To Sale is going in the right path to be able to contribute even more!
