CorSport: Milan still want Real Madrid striker – why they may have the edge over Monaco

By Oliver Fisher -

Despite reports suggesting Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to renew his deal, Milan are still considering signing Luka Jovic, it is claimed.

According to il Corriere dello Sport on Monday (via Calciomercato.it), Ibrahimovic’s renewal – together with that of Gigio Donnarumma – seems to be the priority for the management at the moment.

Stefano Pioli has underlined the importance of the renewal of the Swede, but Milan could still look for a centre-forward to ensure they are fully stocked up in that department.

The paper claims that the main name remains that of Luka Jovic of Real Madrid, who was actually the first choice of Ralf Rangnick, but who nevertheless remains on the Rossoneri’s radar.

The Serbia international is wanted by Milan and Monaco , led by his former coach Niko Kovac. A key influency could be his agent Fali Ramadani who also represents Ante Rebic, and may be decisive in the choice of the player.

At Milan he would find less space with Ibrahimovic, but he would also have the opportunity to play in Europe, given that Monaco have not managed to qualify for any European competition.
