CorSport: Milan very close to securing first summer signing on loan with option to buy

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are very close to closing the deal to bring Tiemoue Bakayoko back to the San Siro, according to a report.

Just about every major media outlet in Italy have been reporting that Bakayoko is a primary target for Milan, and that Chelsea are willing to sell plus the player is desperate to return.

According to Tuesday’s edition of newspaper il Corriere dello Sport (via SportWitness), Milan are closing in on their first signing for the senior squad of the summer window.

‘There was always the obstacle of the price’ but the two clubs have been in talks ‘for months’ over the deal, but ‘in the last hours’ things have changed as Chelsea have opened up to the formula of a paid loan with option to buy.

The paper adds how Milan ‘will have no decision making constraints at the end of the season’ and ‘will be free to exercise the option or not’ just as they were last summer after Bakayoko’s first loan spell.

It is possible that the deal may even close this week, the report adds, as there is ‘there is a lot of confidence around the successful outcome of the negotiation’.
