CorSport: Pay rise in the works as Kalulu prepares for long-term stay at Milan

By Isak Möller -

Taking his recent success into account, it’s not exactly a surprise that AC Milan are working to renew the contract of their gem Pierre Kalulu. The new deal will include a significant pay rise, a report claims.

The Frenchman arrived on a free transfer from Lyon in 2020 as Milan only had to pay a compensation fee of just under €500k. He had shown glimpses of his quality before, but this spring he has really exploded alongside Fikayo Tomori.

According to Corriere Dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), Milan are working on a new contract for Kalulu and it should include a significant pay ride. The player is happy at the club and the new deal will lay the foundation for a long future.

In the last five games, counting the Coppa Italia clash against Inter, Milan have kept five clean sheets and they certainly have the centre-backs to thank for it. Mike Maignan shouldn’t be forgotten either, exceeding the expectations between the sticks.
