CorSport: ‘The present and the future’ – Camarda heading for UCL call-up

By Euan Burns -

Francesco Camarda could find himself playing Champions League football this season for AC Milan as the youngster in line to be registered in Paulo Fonseca’s squad.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Radio Rossonera), the 16-year-old striker is continuing to impress coaches at the club and that could get him some incredible rewards this season.

The draw takes place this evening and Milan will learn which eight teams they will face in the newly formatted group stage.

An image of Camarda and Alvaro Morata posing together was recently shared on social media and the club account commented: “Present and future”.

Whilst that may be the case, there is a desire to see them both in the same team this season and that could even happen in the Champions League.

Camarda has been placed on the UEFA B list by the club for the first time in his career and that means that whilst he does not take up one of the primary registration slots because of his age, he is eligible for selection by Fonseca.

The general plan for Camarda this season is for him to play for Milan Futuro and occasionally be called up to the first team when needed for more experience.
