CorSport: Probable Milan XI to face Sampdoria – Two big players return; another injury issue

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli will be able to welcome back two key cogs of his machine for Wednesday night’s clash against Sampdoria, a report claims.

The Rossoneri will play their final away game of the 2019-20 season when they travel to the Marassi, having won seven of their 10 games since the lockdown and also having remained undefeated in that period.

As il Corriere dello Sport reports on Tuesday (via MilanLive), the most significant news is that there are two important returns for Pioli as Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer are back from suspension.

Centre-back trio Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio and Leo Duarte will be unavailable, while the only injury doubt concerns the presence of Andrea Conti, who hobbled off in Sassuolo-Milan last week due to injury.

The paper claims that it is unlikely the former Atalanta man will recover in time, meaning Davide Calabria will play again from the first minute – and it is important to note that the Primavera graduate is fighting for his Milan career.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Gabbia, Kjaer, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic.
