CorSport: PSG’s interest forces Milan to bring forward renewal talks over star defender

By Oliver Fisher -

Theo Hernandez is continuing to attract interest from clubs abroad and AC Milan have a plan to try and ensure he remains, a report claims.

According to the latest from il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), the full-back has long been tempting Paris Saint-Germain, but for the Rossoneri that serves as one more reason to accelerate his contract renewal.

The current agreement expires in 2024 so there is no urgency from a deadline point of view, but Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will sit at the negotiating table to try and satisfy the Frenchman by offering a well earned pay rise.

At the moment, there are no signs of particular problems on the horizon, even if the last precedents such as those surrounding Donnarumma and Calhanoglu plus Kessie at the moment suggest that the management struggle with getting key players to commit their long term future to the club.

  1. What do you mean ‘bring forward’? You mean from the usual ‘wait until the last few months’ plan? Should have started a long time ago, surely? The most valuable asset the club has left now that Donnarumma and soon Kessie will have walked away for nothing. The club need to have a decision by next summer whilst his value is still at its peak, it’ll start to plummet after that.
