CorSport: Rangnick wants €60m Liverpool target at Milan as part of €130m triple raid

By Oliver Fisher -

Ralf Rangnick will try and convince some members of the RB Leipzig squad to join him for a new adventure at Milan this summer, a report claims.

Rangnick does not want to rely on just young talents that he must discover, but he also wants to spend big on three players that he knows very well and has managed to improve at Salzburg and Leipzig.

As per il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive), the German wants centre-back Dayot Upamecano at Milan. The France U21 international is one of the brightest defensive prospects in the Bundesliga, but given his contract is expiring in 2021 he is set to be available for €30million .

In midfield Rangnick could help Milan finally get a deal over the line for Dani Olmo. The Spaniard was heavily linked with a move to the Rossoneri in January but was snatched by Leipzig, though a return from Milan could be successful this time. The former Dinamo Zagreb star has a €40million asking price.

In attack the dream is Timo Werner. Perhaps the most talented player at Leipzig today, and Rangnick would like to bring his pupil with him to San Siro, but it would cost €60m and there is competition from Liverpool as per multiple sources.

A total expenditure of €130m would therefore be needed, but money raise from any important sales – such as Donnarumma – and squad depth provided by Primavera players could make it happen.
