CorSport: Sassuolo join the hunt for young Milan midfielder but Pioli has big plans

By Oliver Fisher -

Sassuolo have concrete interest in signing midfielder Tommaso Pobega from AC Milan this summer, according to a report.

Friday’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) claims that Torino and Udinese are on the trail of Pobega after a great season on loan at Pordenone.

However, they are not the only club interested in signing the 21-year-old, as Roberto De Zerbi’s Sassuolo have joined the hunt.

Pobega, however, will return to Milan and it is believed that he has a role in the senior squad, as Stefano Pioli and the whole club want to focus on the player and will even table a contract renewal.

The Italian will be kept and will be one of the four midfielders along with Bennacer, Kessie and most likely Bakayoko. All offers will therefore be returned to the sender.

We recently wrote about exactly why Pobega would be ideal to slot into Milan’s four-man midfield group, and you can read it here.
