CorSport: Three options for Romagnoli’s future amid expiring Milan contract

By Isak Möller -

Alessio Romagnoli’s future is yet to be determined as his contract with AC Milan will expire at the end of the season. Though a renewal is still on the table, it doesn’t look like he will stay at the club.

Romagnoli has been at the club since 2015 and in that period, he has been a key player and also earned the captain’s armband. Lately, though, he hasn’t been getting that much playing time amid the success of his defensive teammates.

As per Corriere Dello Sport (via MilanLive.it), there are three options for Romagnoli’s future: join his boyhood club Lazio, renew with Milan or sign for another club. The first option is the one the centre-back is pushing for.

He currently earns €5m per season, meaning he will have to lower his demands significantly to join Lazio. Milan have offered just shy of €3m per season and Mino Raiola (the defender’s agent) is asking for a million more.

Should Romagnoli fail to reach an agreement with another club, then the Rossoneri renewal could become a concrete option again.
