It seems AC Milan’s interest in Hellas Verona star Mattia Zaccagni is not as concrete as initially thought, according to a report.
Milan must take action to reinforce the attacking department as the farewell of Hakan Calhanoglu requires the club to sign a replacement who will start in the No.10 role, hoping that Brahim Diaz will return from Real Madrid to be the back-up again.
According to today’s edition of il Corriere di Verona (via MilanLive), the Rossoneri have had simple interest in Zaccagni without advancing a concrete offer to Hellas, meaning there is no negotiation underway for the 26-year-old’s potential transfer to Milan.
Perhaps something could be developed if the Brahim Diaz operation were to fall through, but to replace Calhanoglu the club want a higher-level attacking midfielder. However, given Mattia Caldara and Andrea Conti are counterparts that Verona would like, an advantageous deal could also be explored in time.
