Following a 1-0 defeat to Feyenoord in the Netherlands, AC Milan had a task to complete at San Siro, and as they have often recently, they fell below the standard required.
There have been many things said after Milan’s exit in the Champions League, and it will likely continue for a while yet. However, this is the unfortunate consequence of falling short of expectations.
Whilst a top-four place is a possibility, the reminder of the Rossoneri’s inconsistent performances will be a worry for many, and many of the same problems have been brought back to the frontline, again, another unfortunate consequence.
There is definitely time to rectify things, but it will take a lot for the faith to be restored in the club, not just the players who took to the field.
Speaking to Sky Sport, Billy Costacurta offered his opinion on the proceedings of the evening, and his comments are available via Milan Press.
“I think the choice of Conceiçao’s starting line-up was good. When there are two expulsions in the three decisive matches it means that the individuals you have make some heavy mistakes. In the last three games, there have been three glaring mistakes: Musah in Zagreb against Dinamo, Maignan in the first leg in the Rotterdam match and Theo Hernandez tonight. I also didn’t understand the changes in the final, Sergio was a bit desperate”
Dynamo and Feyenord are been not to discussed. See
Royal is twice as responsibilities from Theo and he is have actually identical abilities
Next who must stay benched substitution waiting is Fofana
Conceiçao is done. He may last until the end of the season but they’ll be moving on and I think he’ll be glad to do the same. We now run the risk of becoming a Chelsea or Man U with a bad rep which will make it hard to convince quality coaches to come. I also think that modern top coaches won’t want to work with the strict budget Milan currently implement. There’s no time to actually practice anymore so bringing in project players or young players doesn’t work b/c the coach can’t implement his ideas effectively. Look at Madrid, they win often but Ancelotti’s style coupled with the high level of talent allows them to “build the plan while it’s flying”. You can’t bring in a Pep or Mourinho style with a strict budget and no practice time and think anything good is going to happen.
MMMM SI!!!! MEJOR DICHO TAMBIÉN FUE SU CULPA EL HORROR!! DE GABBIA LA ESTUPIDEZ!!! DE MUSAH LA IGNORANCIA!!!! DE MIKE Y EL MERCENARIO!!!! DE THEO HERNÁNDEZ!!!.
14/15 PUNTOS GANÓ LA SUPERCOPA EN DÍAS!!!…. PERO SEGURO QUIEREN OTRO MEDIOCRE FONSECA!!! (HERENCIA PUESTO 7!!)
Ben this is a terrible misrepresentation of what costacurta actually said. Talk about exploiting a quote to drive a narrative. Here’s the quote: “It’s not Conceicao’s fault, who, in my opinion, didn’t make a mistake in his team selection. The mistakes were made by the players, and they made serious ones in every game.”
This is terrible journalism, shameful like Theo’s dive
Three times in the last three weeks, we have had players sent off for picking up double yellow cards. Conceicão deserves blame.
Fofana goes under radar but he is worst than muntari. His iq is lower than temperature in December. Bad decisions, unable to create or defend, dribble with only one defender behind him, aggressive but in bad way always kicks opponents not a ball.
