GdS: Court decision regarding case involving Leao, Lille and Sporting CP postponed

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan may well have to wait before they can finally get Rafael Leao to sign a new contract because a decision on his fine has been delayed, a report claims.

According to what reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), the Court of Milan postponed the decision on the trial involving Leao, Sporting CP and Lille and which concerns the transfer that he made back in the summer of 2019.

Sporting CP have currently obtained from the Court of Arbitration for Sport the verdict that Leao and Lille must make a payment of €20m to them including legal costs for the termination of his contract after their fans stormed the training ground and the winger went to the Ligue 1 club.

The Court of Milan were meant to make their decision today but it has now been postponed until 17 May. The hope is that the final verdict will arrive as planned next month and then Milan can finally extend the contract of Leao, who is a key piece of the future.
