AC Milan defender Fikayo Tomori is attracting interest from two Premier League clubs after his impressive Champions League performances, a report claims.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Tomori has responded well after the disappointment of being left out of the Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with some excellent displays.
The English defender has been a big part of the Milan side that has made a somewhat unlikely run to the semi-finals of the Champions League where they will meet city rivals Inter.
Milan were underdogs against Tottenham in the round of 16 and again in their quarter-final clash with Serie A runaway leaders Napoli, but won on both occasions thanks in large part to their defensive resilience.
The report adds that Tomori’s performances have attracted attention from Manchester United and Tottenham who are both monitoring him.
Spurs have conceded more goals than any other side in the top half of the Premier League while Manchester United are looking for a long-term partner for Raphael Varane, with both eyeing the former Chelsea man.
However, Milan want to keep Tomori who has over four years remaining on his contract, meaning it ‘would take a huge offer for them to even consider’ selling him.
There are also questions about whether the player – who is settled in Italy – would even want to go back to England, even if it might boost his international ambitions.
Sell Him and take advantage of this Opportunity
Yeah Yeah Yeah… Sell, sell, sell… People are incredibly stupid, no idea of a project, developping a team etc.
Some fans behave like children regarding toys, they want a whole new batch of players / toys every friggin’ year / season, in order to be ‘entertained’ and have ‘fun’.
“in order to be ‘entertained’ and have ‘fun’.”
After a decade-long f’ng farce Milan-fans are entitled to be “entertained” and “have fun”, One scudetto isn’t enough. The team needs to improve each year. We need quality players. Quality players cost money. Money we don’t have. Tomori (and no one else) is irreplaceable. Especially if that money gets us 2 players that will improve the squad. I’m not saying he should be sold – I’m saying it wouldn’t be the end of the world if that money fixed one of the issues and M&M manage to find a suitable replacement as well.
There’s no problem with ‘fun’ and ‘entertainment’. The real problem is with ‘FANTACALCIO’, that is to say, the propension that many fans show today to think that the actual world football is lsome kind of 3D version of a video game like Football Manager…
It would take huge offer to make AC Milan consider. That means manc united or spurs must come with offer 50-70m euro . Well we can grab ndicka free transfer for his replacement and use that money to buy prolific striker for giroud successor
They seemed to think that football players are interchangeable like pins on a machine, or something like that.
Gre No Li – I respect your opinions you always contribute well to this forum.
My question is (as someone who thinks in the medium term we could find a better defender than Tomori) how much would you sell for?
Hes been a good servant but is error prone. He’s fast and currently on decent form but I personally believe his ceiling isn’t much higher. Every player has a price, what do you think Tomori’s is?
Given we aren’t Man City or Real Madrid, we have limited financial prowess. There is an opportunity cost to saying no to a large offer, we could strengthen many areas of the team including a new CB who arguably could be better than Fik. What number is too big to turn down?
We signed him for 28mn I believe, if we get 60mn+ from spurs (not saying they’ll pay it but PL clubs are cash rich) imho we should sell. Maybe I’m being naive I accept this isn’t a computer game.
Chelsea should offer 120m to take him back then loan back to us for lower lol 😂😂😭
Glad to see Fik back to his usual self. Always thought Simon – Fik are the duo we need in our back line.
Southgate better call benchwarmer maguire than tomori. Dont understand. Last game, maguire produce some own goal.. haha
United and hostpurs already have some huge money that whateveer milan asking his price bro..
