DAZN: Milan’s first Samardzic bid rejected – Pobega could unlock the deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain in negotiations with Udinese over Lazar Samardzic but they have seen their first offer for him rejected, according to one journalist.

Samardzic is not a new name for Milan given that they were linked with him even when he was playing for Hertha BSC’s second team before moving to RB Leipzig, and in the last few days things have really begun to heat up again on that front.

According to Orazio Accomando of DAZN, the Milan directors put forward a bid worth €16m to try and sign the 22-year-old, but it was considered insufficient by the Friulian club.

The matter is still being discussed between the two clubs at the moment, with Milan now evaluating the inclusion of a counterpart to try to get closer to the requested asking price.

Of the names that the Rossoneri could put forward, it seems that Udinese’s ‘favourite’ at the moment is Tommaso Pobega, a midfielder who seems to be facing an uncertain future at Milan.

It comes after Udinese director Gianluca Nani confirmed earlier today that there have been talks with Milan over the Serbian playmaker but he claimed that no offer has arrived yet, and that they want to keep him but they would do business at the right price.

      1. but why do we need a CAM? RLC is useless in double pivot, since new double-pivot will be Bennacer and Fofana with Reijnders as N10 or maybe Bennacer as N10 and double pivot Reijnders-Fofana, any other choice makes no sense when you have these 3 in midfield.

then having 3 CAMs: Reijnders, RLC and Samardzic is an overkill, when we need defensive players, even more would be having Italians in the team, although @Ted makes an interesting point about Futuro players

    1. Don’t worry about the rules, they bought bunch of average Italians for our Milan Futuro and they’ll just put them on the list to comply with rules. Remember who we’re owned by.

  1. “the Milan directors put forward a bid worth €16m to try and sign the 22-year-old, but it was considered insufficient by the Friulian club.”
Why I am not surprised ?

  2. Samardzic for Pobega and cash is two birds with one stone. But I don’t think the ask for Pobega is true.

If he joins we will have to offload Pobega and Adli probably.

  3. That is why Inter will always be ahead… keep offloading the Italian core and bringing in foreigners rather than better Italians…

  4. They want 30 so why even try att almost half that? Embaressingsonetimes how they lowball. He will go to Inter or Juve probably.

  5. Because you are not the coach. And we all Milan fan are really thankful for that fact. Some attacking football formations and philosophy don’t need pure defensive midfielder. Remember Kessie? He was a b2b midfielder and Tonali or Ben to act as the DLP.
All players defended as one unit to press high up the pitch.
