After weeks of negotiations and reports that seemed like they were never going to end, Charles De Ketelaere day is finally upon us.
As confirmed by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it), in the next few hours De Ketelaere will travel to Milan and he will arrive in Italy between the afternoon and the evening today. Then, he will carry out the entire process of medical examinations, the sports fitness test and the signing of his contract tomorrow.
They were long and tumultuous negotiation for De Ketelaere and in the end the Rossoneri got over the line. Milan will pay €32m fixed for the 21-year-old playmaker plus €3m in bonuses, while the player will be made to sign a five-year contract of €2.2m net per season.
That makes the total operation over €50m when adding together the €35m transfer fee plus around €16-17m in gross salary over the duration of his deal when factoring in the Growth Decree tax relief scheme.
On Wednesday, De Ketelaere should meet with the rest of the squad given and say hello to his new team-mates given that Stefano Pioli has given the team two days of rest after the friendly win against Marseille.
