De Ketelaere prepares for double role against Sampdoria amid Origi injury

Charles De Ketelaere will get the chance from start against Sampdoria this evening, despite initial reports suggesting that Brahim Diaz was in pole position. And the Belgian will have a double role for AC Milan.

Divock Origi was meant to start up front but he experienced muscle fatigue during yesterday’s training session. As a result, he hasn’t been called up for the game and it seems Olivier Giroud will start once again.

Given the tight schedule, the Frenchman will certainly not play the entire game and limiting his playing time is a must. The problem, however, is that Milan don’t have another typical striker on the bench (Rebic is also injured).

This means that De Ketelaere could play as the centre-forward for part of the game, with either Brahim Diaz or Yacine Adli playing in the No.10 role. It remains to be seen how Pioli will manage the game, but it’s clear that a lot will depend on the scoreline.
