The Dubai Super Cup is being viewed as the latest chance for Charles De Ketelaere to impress AC Milan ahead of the Italian Super Cup, having failed to do so at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, a report claims.
As has been reported by Tuttosport (Pianeta Milan), the Belgian youngster only managed to feature for 15 minutes in Qatar before his team was knocked out in the group stage and forced to head home disappointed.
He is set to arrive at the Dubai training camp on Tuesday and it is expected that he will feature in the match against Liverpool on Friday. There is also then the game against PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands on December 30 where he can get some more minutes.
There is still belief on sporting director Paolo Maldini’s side that De Ketelaere can settle into Stefano Pioli’s side and become a key player for years to come. This sort of path is reminiscent of how Sandro Tonali became so important.
The Super Cup against Inter is on January 18 and there is a hope that he could be in better shape physically and mentally by then.
