De Ketelaere admits he will ‘listen’ to offers and feels ‘ready’ to leave Club Brugge

By Oliver Fisher -

Charles De Ketelaere has declared for the first time publicly that he is looking to move on from Club Brugge this summer amid interest from AC Milan.

There is a lot of speculation surrounding the future of the 21-year-old playmaker swirling in the media currently, with Milan the team strongest linked. The general consensus among major sources is that the two offers the Rossoneri have put forward so far have not been enough, and so another raised bid will be needed.

De Ketelaere spoke on the first episode of the new Eleven Sports show ‘No days off’ and he was asked about a number of different topics, including his development so far up until this point and of course what the future will hold.

“I still don’t feel satisfied, even though I played against Messi and with De Bruyne. It’s not enough for me yet,” he said (via Calciomercato.com).

“When I was 5-6 years old my mom sent me to a soccer field and there it all started. For my mom my first word was ball and playing football has always been my dream.

“It’s hard to express the love I have for Club Brugge, I’ve been here since I was a kid and I love this place. It’s a club that I will cheer for all my life, but since I started playing for the first team I have overcome the mentality of a fan.”

Naturally, De Ketelaere was asked about the rumours surrounding his future and a potential move away from his current home in Brugge, and the forward seemed to admit that the time is right to make that jump.

“I don’t pay much attention to the future, I give my best every day and I just want to become a better player. My team-mates like the nickname ‘golden boy’, but I don’t want to get mad. the pressure I put on myself has always been greater than that of other people,” he said.

“I am curious to know what the future will bring me, if other clubs show interest I will listen to them. In the past I used to say: ‘If I ever have to leave Club Brugge, I would be so afraid’. But now it is different: if a solid offer comes I’m ready.”

    1. I read the full article referred to above. There’s no mention of the Champions League in it so far as I can see. And he is careful not to name any preference in terms of clubs so as to keep his options open though it’s common knowledge that his preference is probably AC Milan.

    2. If that is the case then Maldini & Massara should just et the deal done and bring him to the club asap

The fans are dying to have someone like this imagine the shirt sales and trophies to come

We just need to be competitive against Inter and Juve!
This season will be much harder in Seria A
