AC Milan have raised their offer for Charles De Ketelaere and now a full agreement is expected to be just one step away, it is claimed.
The De Ketelaere soap opera has certainly been dragging on for some time now, with Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara having been locked in negotiations for a while with Club Brugge over the 21-year-old playmaker but without having been able to find a meeting point as of yet.

According to the latest from Luca Bianchin of La Gazzetta dello Sport on Twitter, Milan have raised their offer for De Ketelaere and the Belgian is now ‘one step away’ from finally completing his long-awaited move to the Rossoneri.
He adds that there is ‘big news’ possible between this evening and tomorrow regarding the operation, which is worth €35m in total with €31m of that fixed and €4m of it in bonuses.
Whut. So which is the real number 1 target? Cdk is better bc ziyech has same physicality as samu and saladmaker but better technique and experience.
I’d wayyy rather have De Ketelaere, Ziyech ok he was great at Ajax but he’s struggled with being consistent (mind you when he’s on his day he’s phenomenal but just isn’t consistent enough)
I appreciate the nuance in this critique of Ziyech. People sometimes dismiss him out of hand and make ridiculous statements about him when he’s a fantastic player.
I think the reason his time at Chelsea hasn’t exactly gone to plan is because he doesn’t fit their system, which is something Tuchel has admitted himself. But he’s the perfect profile for us, and considering that he can play both CAM and RW, as well as his technical prowess, I think he’ll fit us superbly and I have no concerns about consistency. I love him as a player and I still think he’s really really great.
And if it’s true that we can get him for just €10 million, that is an absolute bargain and we should get both him AND De Ketelaere.

Juve losing Morata is only a good thing for them though. And they just brought in Firmino from Liverpool. I’d say Juve has strengthen quite a bit even if Pogba is out for 2 months.

Well no problem bb and who knows if its in the making but i can at least not find any confirmation at this point of it already happened neither on juventus twitter profile or for that matter romanos or transfermarkt so i doubt its actually happened yet at least. Latest info was that Juve had submitted their offer. But since Pool are only asking for ~22M€ I’m sure they’ll find agreement soon. Unlike certain other Italian club… 😛
well if they only are demanding 22 mil euros then ill admit it would make it highly ikely to happen. When that is said juventus has also sold players for €98.65m euros while only buying players for €89.50m euros. Those buys also include the finalization of the previous 2 year loan of chiesa for 40 mil euros.
Personally im not convinced that pogba will show his previous standards with the italian team and angel de maria only signed for 1 year so as much as they have done some great transfer in recent years im not especially worried to be honest, Firmino though would be a great transfer.
Your forgetting Juve also bought Vlahovic and Zakaria in 2022. So add another 80M boss
Sam im fully aware of tha vlahovic deal but i can allmost guarantee you that amount wasn’t paid up front in one payment so most likely they will have to pay that off over several years in installments. zakaria was bought at a fairly low fee at €8.60m but you seem to forget that juventus has twice the advertisment deals as us so obviously they will have more cash to spend even though im dumbfounded that they can keep it up as they actually also has an obligation to buy Locatelli next year.
While it’s true that other clubs’ transfer windows haven’t been perfect, the way you describe the situation is very simplistic. Just because someone has left a club doesn’t make them a “reject”. How come Pogba and Di Maria are “rejects” but Dybala isn’t?
The truth is, Juve have brought back Pogba, who did very well for them last time around, and Di Maria, who’s a proven midfielder. Inter have brought back a striker who scored 64 goals in 95 games for them. And that’s just the big-name arrivals.
We’re actually the ones who’ve done the least in the transfer market so far, but hopefully that’s about to change. I still think we’re favorites for the title race, and that’s where we should be (and are) aiming, but other teams are improving as well. We can’t sleep on that.

Pogba is a has-been. Let’s hope I don’t have to regret saying that though.
I think Man United just didn’t know how to play Pogba properly. Not saying he’ll be a success for sure, but you can see from his consistency at international level that he still has what it takes, at least potentially.
As for Bakayoko, he just doesn’t seem to be part of Pioli’s plans, which is why he wasn’t played all that often last season. I wouldn’t dismiss his ability so easily, but it does seem at the moment that we don’t really need him.

@Gan Ja lol the name, I concur. They make it seem as if Juve are miles ahead. They’ve been restructuring their squad since Jan. They lost key CBs in Chiellini and de ligt, so it’s tricky. Interesting to see once more how Bonucci perfroms without his sidekick. That pairing is a toss up and they don’t have much depth in defence. They also lost Kulu and Bentancur, replaced by Zak. They also lost Morata and Bernadeschi who are great squad players. Gained injured Pogba and Di Maria but we don’t know how they would fit. To me they’re about the same which is a Scudetto level team just like last year.
Same with Inter, they got Lukaku but u never know how returns perform. And chances are they gonna lose Skriniar or another key player to balance their books.
We don’t have the kind of money to buy a Lukaku or Bremer so we gamble on youth which surprisingly paid off last year. We lost Romag and Kessie, gained Adli and Pobega so it’s not all doom and gloom. Last year’s team is pretty much in tact

He can’t be worse than Diaz, but for €35mn from the Jupiler league, I’m expecting big things.

The other thing is, how many recent younger signings really hit the ground running on day 1? Hernandez, probably, and maybe Bennacer, but Kessie, Tonali, Krunic, Leao all struggled to make an initial impression and find their role.
If CDK does sign, there’s going to be an unfair amount of pressure on him to perform from Day 1 – I think it’s only really fair to judge from the second season onwards.

From what I understood of this saga, Brugge’s asked for €35Mio up front. What Milan are proposing is €31Mio upfront + €4Mio under the form of bonuses. Hope that’s gonna be ok, but let’s not count our chickens yet. Fingers crossed and knock on wood
I don’t believe Brügge will accept this as it doesn’t quarantee them the 35M€ they want. I’d happily be wrong though.
Would depend how the bonuses are structured really.
Whilst it’s likely based on UCL qualification and progression, it could be that it’s for winning Serie A and the Champions’ League, it may be that it’s based on qualifying for Europe or something daft like not being relegated (just as a way of stretching payments).
I believe the goal is stretching the payment untill the takeover is completed so Redbird will pay the bonus instead of Elliot.
