MN: De Ketelaere’s arrival will give Pioli much-needed tactical flexibility – his thinking

By Oliver Fisher -

The signing of Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge will open up new solutions for AC Milan from a tactical point of view, a report has revealed.

MilanNews confirmed that De Ketelaere will land in Italy today to begin the process of medical examinations, signing his contract at Casa Milan and then the announcement. The attacking midfielder arrives in a deal worth €36m total and it is one that shows Milan’s strength because they do not need to make sales to have funds for the mercato.

The report adds that De Ketelaere will be key for Pioli’s plans in both the static and dynamic phase, as he will facilitate a fluid switch from a from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3 and vice versa. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara think that he can be the right piece to complete the attacking department given his versatility, his current skill set and his potential, but he will also need time.

Calm and patience should be awarded to the 21-year-old old, just as it was with Rafael Leao, Sandro Tonali, Theo Hernandez and Pierre Kalulu. The important thing is the that belief is there that De Ketelaere can be the man for years to come.
