AC Milan target Charles De Ketelaere has come under attack from the Belgian media as the saga surrounding his future continues to rumble on.
Despite the various attempts by Milan to strike a deal with Club Brugge, an agreement has not yet been reached. According to HLN in Belgium (via SempreMilan.it), Brugge want €35m to sell the 21-year-old while the Rossoneri have not yet hit this amount.

De Ketelaere has been confident all this time that the Rossoneri and Belgian champions would reach an agreement over his transfer, the source adds, and while situation is not easy for the player he ‘certainly cannot blame the club’ who have a €40m offer from Leeds United on the table.
Now, we must wait and see if the stance of De Ketelaere changes in view of the next game away against Eupen, because he is ‘a top player and one who earns a lot and who, as long as there is no agreement between all the parties, should not avoid his responsibilities’.
How is he avoiding his responsibilities? He’s just sending a message that he wants to go to Milan, while Brugge are using him as a cash cow when this guy was born and bred in Brugge yet that’s how you respect him? If anything considering Milan’s newest reported offer, Brugge should not try and block the move anymore, and to the people who say “but Leeds submitted a 37M offer which is higher” that is absolutely irrelevant because you can’t force a player to go to a club they have no desire to go to because that club is offering 2-3 mil more

Every business when selling something wants to maximize profit, otherwise they’d go out of business and have to answer to their shareholders. When other clubs come knocking for Leao, I see fans here go nuts…100m, 120m when he isn’t even worth that imo… everyone hates to overpay for a player until it’s their club that’s selling , then they want exorbitant amounts of money

WOW. That escalated pretty quickly. So instead of getting 37M€ they’d get 32M€ and go bankcrupt, eh? Then they have some serious flaws in their financing operations.

Let’s see from bigger perspective.
First of all, dont take a judge on one or any of the parties in this transfer.
-Milan want CDK, but afraid to pay club bruge asking price with the reason of their limited funds.
-CDK want Milan, but blocked by brudge becauae they expect more of his selling
-Leeds want the player, and asking for more than Milan, but the player reluctant for the transfer.
-Club Brudge demand more profit, so they prefer to sell the player to leeds with 40 m offer than milan with 30+ m. But the player prefer milan than leeds.
It is tranfer dilemma, but no one wrong. Lets just wait a bit more then we have the winner.
First of all, he made a request that was granted by the club, it means he did not avoid responsibility as there is a mutual agreement with the club. Had the club told him to play, he would have played. Brugge also do not want to jeopardize the deal by risking injury.
Lastly, he does not earn a lot at Brugge.

Yeah, sounds like the ideal situation for all parties. Or maybe – just maybe – not.
At the end of the day, Brugge greediness can cost them because the guy won’t renew and in 2023 CDK will be sold for a lot less. Milan’s offer is more than adequate and Brugge knows it, but they want more money. CDK is free to go to wherever he wants and I can understand him to avoid Leeds as a destination
CDK was on the right way, because none of us knows the exact clauses in his cantract with Brugge. he has an agent, and the agent knew what is right for his client. we as fans only know what’s on the pitch.
