AC Milan are close to completing the signing of Charles De Ketelaere but that means Hakim Ziyech is unlikely to arrive, according to our information.
As we reported yesterday, technical director Paolo Maldini asked Elliott Management for consent to raise the offer to Club Brugge for De Ketelaere to €35m including bonuses, and he obtained permission to do so.
Elliott’s yes
As our colleagues at SempreMilan.it report, that offer has reached its destination and now the definition of the deal is one step away. In the next few hours the response from the Belgian club will arrive and it is expected to be positive. After that, the clubs will proceed to the exchange of documents and the long-awaited departure of De Ketelaere to Italy for his medical examinations.
The saga around the 21-year-old’s future has been ongoing for most of the summer, but it is understandable that he is in demand given he scored 18 goals and added 10 assists from his advanced midfield role last season, with TEAMtalk detailing how Leeds United have tried and failed to persuade him.
No to Ziyech
However, as reported by Il Giornale, Elliott Management do not seem willing to inject new liquidity to give Maldini and Massara the opportunity to also sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech who remains destined to be an alternative to De Ketelaere.
The American fund are in the last transfer window of their ownership as Gerry Cardinale will take over with RedBird Capital in September, so any large expenses can be ruled out.
If Elliott gave us both of them as a parting gift that would’ve been great but of course they’re stingy…
What if it would be loan + obligation to buy?
This is 100% made up.
Yep. Milan don’t need “inject new liquidity” to get Ziyech. Not for the initial loan+option to buy -thing nor the straight 10M€ buy-out.
Do these so-called journalists think Milan are living from hand to mouth where every single action needs “a cash injection” from Elliott? Ridiculous.
Milan LOST 100M last year. So where exactly do you see large sums of cash floating around? Even a paid loan and his salary will come to close to 10m that frankly they do not have.
“Even a paid loan and his salary will come to close to 10m that frankly they do not have.”
You REALLY think M&M would have been negotiating on 3-4 other players throughout the summer if they ONLY had money for CDK?
Look at who wrote then you know why. They call it what? British rubbish
If it’s true, we’re going probably to sell Sale to make funds
Ziyech is a loan deal. The reason Milan won’t loan him after CdK arrive has nothing to do with money. It is because Milan won’t be able to register their non-homegrown players due to squad rule, as I have said multiple times, Milan is already above the limit (by 1 player). Luckily CdK is still 21 years old so he can be registered at B list, not counted toward the non-homegrown quota. If Milan still have money left, it will be spend on homegrown player to replace one of the non-homegrown so it does not exceed limit.
Belotti?
Thank you
Maldini
You are only dream
Yes, Belotti, and play Maldini instead of Salamakers on the right – he cant do any worse.
Maldini is gone already. Loan transfer.
Play Rebic on the right — he’s much, MUCH better than Messias or Saele.
His preseason so far has been fantastic. Goal in first match, fantastic heal pass assist to Giroud in 2nd match vs Koln, and goal in third match vs Wolfsberger.
Rebic will be back to double-digit goals again this year like he did two years in a row as long as Pioli makes sure he gets minutes on the field and RW is the place to do it because Origi/Giroud will be very good up top and Leao is very good on the left.
