Denials have arrived in response to rumours from Spain suggesting AC Milan are close to signing Luis Suarez on a free transfer.
Suarez has been linked with a number of clubs since leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of his contract. One of the frequent links has been with Aston Villa, but MLS sides Inter Miami and now DC United are also believed to be in the mix.
As per a report from Diario AS, Milan are ‘one step away’ from signing Suárez, but Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza are trying to convince him too. The figure of €4m net for one season is quotes as being the price for the veteran striker, with bonuses related to image rights.
According to the latest from MilanNews however, the news launched from Spain on Suarez finds no confirmation and the Uruguayan is not destined to wear the Rossoneri shirt. Although he is looking for accommodation, Milan have other objectives. Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com and Matteo Moretto have also denied it.
