Sergino Dest has conceded that going down to ten men against Chelsea was essentially what rendered the game too difficult for AC Milan last night.
There is still a lot of fallout burning on after Daniel Siebert’s decision to not only award a penalty to Mason Mount in the opening 20 minutes of last night’s game but also to send Fikayo Tomori off, even though it looked like a very harsh call and VAR did not intervene.
Dest gave an interview to Milan TV after the match to reflect on the performance.
“It was a difficult match, a match in which we had to make up for the red card. Now we have to look to the next matches with confidence and win to get through the round,” he said (via MilanNews).
“It was difficult to play with ten despite the push of the fans, who supported us until the end. We will try to give our best in the next matches. We are sorry for losing both matches against Chelsea but we hope that tomorrow will be better than today.”
Dest?
I hope he isn’t being constantly fielded just because of the American ownership angle.
He cannot play good football and shouldn’t be playing for Milan.
He did quite well yesterday.
Dest at least gave the attack some spark. RW would be perfect for him
Boy balled out yesterday notwithstanding all the adversity tbh. Turns out he’s not half bad when absolutely necessary…
