Mediaset: The details of Giroud’s potential Milan renewal

By Euan Burns -

The new contract that Olivier Giroud may soon sign is expected to run until 2024 and there will be an option for an extra year after that, a report claims.

As has been reported by Sport Mediaset (via Milan News), the French striker is expected to sign a new contract with Milan in the very near future and it is understood that it will be a one-year extension with the option for another year after that.

It would mean that Giroud could still be playing for Milan until June 2025 which would assumedly be towards the very end of his superb career.

The extra year would be on the same terms as his current contract, which means he would be earning €3 million per season as well as bonuses.

There do not seem to be any fears around the club that Giroud will not extend the deal that runs out in June 2023. He will be back in training on Friday.
