A new name has emerged in AC Milan’s pursuit of a central midfielder in Tijjani Reijnders, according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio.
Milan continue to be linked with a number of different midfield targets given that Ismael Bennacer could well be out until 2023 with a knee injury while Aster Vranckx and Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan spells have ended.
According to the latest from Sky’s Di Marzio, the latest option that Milan are considering is Tijjani Reijnders, who currently plays for Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar. The Rossoneri management are evaluating the 24-year-old but there is no negotiation at present.
However, what is sure is that Milan looking for a player with Reijnders’ characteristics given Bennacer’s absence, so if the reports that come back are good then talks could open between the clubs.
Earlier this month, Reijnders received his first official call-up to the Netherlands senior national team for the 2023 UEFA Nations League finals.
What is wrong with Vranckx? We are in desperate need of a midfielder, yet he’s not in contention. He’s only 20 yo, we have a buying clause at 12M, which is not much considering the other targets reported, he knows the environment, he just got his first call for the Belgium national team after he played with U15, U16, U19, U21. Is he too expensive? Does Pioli have a daughter and he dated her?

Not sure whats wrong with Aster. I thought he was pretty good most of the time. Ofcourse mistakes happen but thats the case with every player. Aster is also young. We might regret not getting him

Yeah he was called to replace De Bruyne who is injured. He played 15 minutes against Austria and could play tonight as well.
I guess that’s because other players are already commited to the Euro U21.
He was with the U21 team as a starter for the U21 Euro before this call.

But if it was to replace De Bruyne, why not CDK? Does Belgium senior team coach also realize that CDK is not for AM position but Winger/SS position?
@Yelnats I don’t follow Belgium very much haha so I couldn’t tell for Charles. I was looking to understand why Vranckx doesn’t have a chance with us and I found many reports from him being a key player for Belgium U21. He was supposed to play the friendlies and the Euro, it seems.
I also do not follow Belgium match but I know that CDK was playing as RW for Belgium when he scored the nutmeg against $umma who was in goal for Italy.

If we had a prime 19y/o Messie in the team, Pioli will send him on loan to a serie B side or just sell him for peanuts because he ‘isn’t’ ready. And we are counting on this guy to build a young team.

Aster is out let’s deal with it and move on, this guy is a good player with potential and is the at the perfect age to move to Seria a, we have already missed out on Shurrs and Kooperminers, lots of talent in Dutch league with excellent market value
