Di Marzio: Correa to Milan on standby; Atletico and Valencia both wait

By Oliver Fisher -

Angel Correa’s move from Atletico Madrid to AC Milan is still in ‘standby’, according to the latest reports.

We reported earlier in the week that there is growing optimism in the Milan camp that a deal for the Argentine will be concluded.

There could even possibly be a transfer triangle of sorts, as Atleti want Valencia’s Rodrigo Moreno to replace Correa, and Valencia in turn are apparently interest in Andre Silva.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Italia have provided updates on the situation amid reports that the saga is close to completion.

They state that Rodrigo is in fact still training with Valencia, despite an agreement between his current club and Atletico over a €60million deal.

This is because the move for Rodrigo depends almost exclusively on Correa’s departure, as the Madrid-based club intend to use that money to pay Valencia.

Correa for his part is pushing for a move to the San Siro, but ‘the white smoke has not yet arrived’ as both Rodrigo and Correa continue to train with their current sides.
