Di Marzio: Genoa star Spurs-bound in €30m-plus-play operation as Milan miss out

By Oliver Fisher -

It looks as though AC Milan’s late attempts to hijack the Radu Dragusin deal will not be successful as the defender is closing in on a move to Spurs, according to a report.

La Repubblica reported yesterday morning that Milan were the team that are in pole position to sign Dragusin from Genoa with Lorenzo Colombo the potential key to unlocking things in their favour.

Then, Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed that the Rossoneri were trying and that an offer of Colombo plus €20m could be enough to satisfy Genoa after contacts were held with the player’s entourage.

According to the latest from Di Marzio and other sources, Dragusin is ever closer to becoming a new Tottenham player after continuous contacts between the two clubs in the last few days. The parties are now resolving the final details to reach a full agreement.

Genoa waited for the possible arrival of an official offer from Bayern Munich, who on Monday 8 January entered the race for Dragusin without direct contact. Instead, they spoke to the agents of the Romanian centre-back and promised a sizeable bid from the German club.

The offer did not arrive and so Genoa are closing the deal with Tottenham. We are now at the final details with the London club having reached €24m plus €6m in bonuses with their offer, while full-back Djed Spence will go in the opposite direction on loan.

    1. What are you smoking? Milan haggled for Tomori that had an agreed price and did great. Milan asked for a discount on that deal. 😀

  1. Exactly, everyone but news reporters knew he is not joining Milan. The idea that Genoa will accept a part exchange deal for a player that won’t be available until next season to get less money for a first team starter right now is a sign of extremely low intelligence. Anyone that believed it….
