Inter are in advanced talks with Hakan Calhanoglu’s entourage over joining them on a free transfer, according to reports.
The future of Calhanoglu still remains shrouded in mystery as the negotiations with Milan over the renewal of his contract – expiring on 30 June 2021 – has been a rollercoaster ride full of lots of meetings with his agents but nothing to suggest that an agreement is imminent.
According to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews), Inter are interested in signing Calhanoglu as a replacement for Christian Eriksen, who is recovering from the heart problem he sustained on international duty.
The Turkey international will not renew his contract with Milan, who have already started talking to Mattia Zaccagni of Hellas Verona as his potential replacement. Pietro Mazzara of MilanNews confirms this indiscretion in a tweet, adding that the talks are ‘well-established’ as Inter have set their sights on the 27-year-old.
