AC Milan have held positive talks with Jean-Clair Todibo over a move to the Rossoneri and will now work on an agreement with Barcelona, a report claims.
We reported on Friday that Milan’s sporting director Ricky Massara is in Spain to try and convince the defender to accept the offer, with the ball firmly in the player’s court.
Now, the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews.it) is claiming that Massara has returned to Milanello this morning having obtained the player’s agreement to make the switch to the Rossoneri.
Now, the club will work with Barcelona to find the formula that will satisfy all three parties, and the intermediary of the operation is already at work.
The parties are woking on the basis of a loan with option to buy but also a buy-back clause inserted for Barcelona’s protection – a choice that suits everyone as Milan can buy him if he does well, while the Catalan side can buy him back if the player wants to return to Spain.
Todibo considers himself a Barcelona player and would consider it a failure to end his adventure this way. Now, Barcelona will also talk to the player and his agent to explain how the club does not intend to offload him permanently but to give Todibo an opportunity to show his capabilities, play continuously and understand if his professional career can be with Milan or with Barca.
