Di Marzio: Messias sets Napoli target as scan shows hamstring injury is healing

By Oliver Fisher -

Junior Messias underwent a new scan on his hamstring injury today and he has a target in mind for his return, a report claims.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports on his website PazzaDiFanta that Messias underwent an instrumental test which showed that the lesion to the hamstring of his right thigh is healing, with new checks scheduled for the next week to once again check the progress of the injury.

The target date for his return is April 12, which is the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at San Siro against Napoli. That means an absence of around one month in total is therefore expected.

The Brazilian winger sustained the injury during the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 game against Tottenham on 8 March in London and has been out since, with Alexis Saelemaekers replacing him in the role of right wing-back, while Davide Calabria has also returned.
