Di Marzio: Milan have concrete interest in midfield duo ahead of the summer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working to strengthen the midfield department ahead of the summer and they have a concrete interest in two players, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Di Marzio spoke on Sky (via MilanNews), and he confirmed that Charles De Ketelaere will not be leaving because the management believe in him, with Sandro Tonali and Rafael Leao cited as examples of players who didn’t live up to expectations in their first year.

It cannot be totally ruled out that De Ketelaere is loaned out but it would not be to Club Brugge, his old club. Instead, it would have to be a side currently playing in Serie A so he can continue to get used to Italian football.

Milan are moving in advance to try and secure a couple of targets, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek of Chelsea a serious and concrete target. Daichi Kamada is another concrete target too, with the feeling being that the management want to intervene after Ismael Bennacer’s injury.
