Di Marzio: Milan hoping to seal €3m deal for defender tonight – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are hoping to close the operation for Marco Pellegrino with Club Atletico Platense this evening, according to a report.

According to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio, Pellegrino is the player that the management have chosen as the number one target for the defensive department and they could actually reach an agreement this evening.

Tonight there will be a meeting between the Rossoneri management, the player’s agent and the president of Platense. The total figure should be around €3m plus bonuses and a percentage of future resale.

Given that the initial reports suggested a transfer fee at least double the amount mentioned by Di Marzio, it could well be that Milan are getting a bargain deal for one of the highest rated young defenders in Argentina.

Pellegrino – who has an Italian passport and therefore would not take a non-EU spot – has made 17 appearances for Platense this season, scoring one goal.

  1. But but but but but I thought some know-it-all here said he was 10 million euros.

3 million Euros makes sense. Reasonable transfer. Low risk, high potential.

Also the transfer should go through quick because of the Italian passport.

  2. Too bad we couldn’t get that defender from Greece. He looks like such a talent… but Pellegrino has some of the same characteristics so still very exciting transfer
