Di Marzio: Milan target Anderlecht star as Suso replacement; competition from two clubs

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are interested in signing Anderlecht’s Alexis Saelemaekers as a replacement for Suso, according to a report.

Our correspondent Vito Angele told us on Wednesday morning that the deal which will send Suso to Sevilla is done. He will join the Andalusian club on loan for 18 months with an obligation to buy in the event that the LaLiga side secure qualification for the Champions League.

The Spaniard was an unused substitute during Tuesday night’s 4-2 win over Torino (after extra time) in the Coppa Italia, and is expected to leave Milano and travel to Spain today.

Now Milan are looking for his replacement, and according to what Gianluca Di Marzio has told Sky (via MilanNews.it), Anderlecht’s Saelemaekers is a possible target.

However, he is also being tracked by two other clubs as Ligue 1 side Reims have submitted a bid of €5m which has been surpassed by Freiburg’s €7.5m bid.

The Belgium U21 international has two goals and four assists in 19 appearances in all competitions for the Brussels-based side this season, and can play either out on the right or in central midfield.
