A new hypothesis has emerged regarding AC Milan defender Marco Pellegrino as Hellas Verona opened talks over a deal in the last 24 hours, a report claims.
According to what is being reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Verona are looking for a central defender and have set their sights on Pellegrino, who is also of interest to Anderlecht as per the same source.
Today the first contacts took place between Verona and Milan to talk about Pellegrino, who is actually admired by several clubs in Europe, and the Venetian side would like him to strengthen their rearguard.
Verona are in a battle for Serie A survival given they are currently inside the bottom three, and they have been under financial pressure to sell players.
For example, Isak Hien moved to Atalanta and of course the Rossoneri bought Filippo Terracciano at the start of the window, leaving the defensive department a bit depleted.
Pellegrino has only 68 minutes of Serie A action, but Milan gave him a contract running summer until 2028 and thus it is a loan deal being evaluated.
The former Platense man fractured his foot during the away draw against Napoli last year, and since his return he has made two appearances for the Primavera team.
