Di Marzio: PSV provide hope for Rodriguez as potential move to Napoli collapses

By Oliver Fisher -

Ricardo Rodriguez appears to be running out of options as a report claims that he will not be able to complete a move from AC Milan to Napoli either.

The Swiss full-back seemed all set to join Fenerbahce last week, however the Turkish Football Federation initially blocked the move taking place due to Financial Fair Play. Milan expected a formal offer from the Istanbul side when the restriction was lifted, but it never arrived so alternative plans were looked at.

Our mercato expert Vito Angele stated that Rodriguez is on the verge of a move to Napoli but that there are still details that need to be resolved before everything is agreed, however now it seems as though that has collapsed too.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews.it), the possibility of the 27-year-old reuniting with Gennaro Gattuso in Naples has now disappeared as Milan have not accepted the conditions – loan with option to buy – presented by Napoli.

However, there may still be a chance for Rodriguez to seal a last minute exit, as the track leading to Eredivisie side has now been reopened.
