Di Marzio: Salernitana expected to sign Milan defender after accelerating talks

By Oliver Fisher -

There is expected to be some late movement on the outgoing front for AC Milan and Marco Pellegrino currently looks set to remain in Serie A, according to a report.

Pellegrino has been heavily linked with a move away from Milan before the January mercato shuts, with clubs both in Italy and abroad having come forward to land him.

The Argentine defender arrived in the summer but struggled for game time and then when his opportunity did come he broke his foot in the away draw against Napoli, which needed two months to heal.

According to what is being reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Salernitana are still working on a couple more signings to boost their fight against relegation and Roma striker Eldor Shomurodov is one of their targets.

He is currently on loan with an option to buy at Cagliari but the idea is that the Arechi club would take over his loan for the second half of the season.

Furthermore, they are looking for a centre-back and yesterday they accelerated for Pellegrino, overtaking the competition from Hellas Verona and Sampdoria above all.

The player has given the green light to joining Salernitana, now we need to understand if Walter Sabatini will give the final approval to conclude the operation.

  1. Nothing like a mid season loan to mix things up…..

Is he a Dídac Vilà or a Juan Mauri?

    Whatever happened to Juan Mauri?

    1. Mauri was a good player for a mid table club. Much like Federico Giunti and Marco Donadel we had in the past, they just aren’t Milan quality.
