Di Marzio names Milan trio that Stefano Pioli has enjoyed ‘good responses’ from

AC Milan have continued their electric pace and have managed to stay atop the Serie A table despite a couple of damaging defeats in January.

Going into the season many did not expect Milan to continue their remarkable run of form from the second half of the 2019-20 campaign, but the Rossoneri currently sit top of the Serie A table with a two-point advantage over their city rivals Inter having won 15 of their opening 21 league games.

Gianluca Di Marzio spoke to the microphones of Sky Italia about Milan’s thumping 4-0 win against Crotone on Saturday afternoon, during which Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ante Rebic each netted a brace.

The journalist believes that one of the keys for Milan has been Pioli’s ability to call upon much stronger depth options to help battle selection issues.

“Those who enter the field instead of the owners have done well like Tomori, Meitè and Leao. So good responses for Stefano Pioli from players who are out of position or who don’t play often,” he said (via MilanNews).

Milan continue to win in spite of the fact that the team have battled torrent after torrent of selection problems because of injuries and COVID cases.
