There are growing reports that AC Milan are already lining up a replacement for Paulo Fonseca after a poor start to the season, with Edin Terzic the name gathering momentum.

As Gianluca Di Marzio reports, after Daniele De Rossi’s farewell today, another Serie A head coach job could change. The derby against Inter could in fact be decisive for the future of Fonseca after a very complicated start to the season.

Milan’s start to the season both in Serie A and the Champions League has been different than expected after a positive mercato (in the eyes of the club) and preseason. For this reason, a negative result in the derby against Inter could spell the end for Fonseca.

Among the candidates to replace him is Terzic, Di Marzio confirms, who was in the stands at San Siro for the Champions League match against Liverpool last night. The former Dortmund coach would say yes to the Rossoneri and ‘is interested in the project’ that the club have.

It remains to be seen whether a positive result for Milan against Inter will be enough for Fonseca to remain on the bench or whether the Rossoneri management and Ibrahimovic will want to change after what will be just six games.

    1. He won’t win any games. Get that idea out of your head. The guy is clueless. He has no idea whatsoever regarding how to lead a winning team. He may succeed in Ukraine where football quality is very questionable, but will never be competitive in the Europe that matters.
Huge mistake to get involved with this guy.

      1. They’ve invested over €200 million in 2 years, do you really think their choice of coach is down to economics? Don’t be dense. The top coaches (Ancelotti, Guardiola & Klopp) aren’t available. That leaves up and coming coaches and problematic coaches like Conte and Tuchel.

  1. i remember how everyone was talking about Fonseca ball after a few good preseason results against B squads. to be honest, in the last two games i saw more of that than during preseason

  2. Another SOFT coach with a weak mentality. Losing the league title to Bayern Munich on the final day by losing their last game when they only needed a draw. Sigh.

This club needs to be sold to owners who have ambition. Smh

  3. I really don’t understand how anyone can expect a good result in the derby and how our team would all of a sudden play well… There are bad result and there are bad management styles. It’s not like we played well our say good signed but the ball was not in our favor, we were simply outplayed by all the teams we face except Venezia which is let’s be honest a very weak side.. I’m utterly disgusted with how things are right now

    1. That’s not the point. It make no sense of letting him go hire someone who will not have enough time to implement his strategy in a short time. Not good for team spirit either

      1. At least, he took Dortmund to UCL final where Milan deserves to be. I would like to see Milan succeeding again in UCL more than in Serie A. That proves more to Inter and Juventus which have not achieved much as Milan in Europe

  4. Bro at this point even if we get Guardiola we won’t play better. I don’t event think the coach is the problem even I don’t like this clown named Fonseclown. I feel like every Milan player it’s sh*t right now with no real desire to fight for the colors and to win.

  5. tomorrow news,
jery: finally we can get rid Pioli salary burden (3m/y) cz he just gone to Arab, fonSACKa is 2,5m/y so it’s still a win, & if we sack him too we’ll get cheaper coach cz i always winner

  6. Roberto Di Zerbi would have been the ideal coach but clearly he wasn’t good enough lol. I’m 100% certain he will get the best out of our players, especially Leao. Just look at his track record with wingers.

    1. Boulden won’t agree with you as according to him De Zerbi must be so bad (below Fonseca kind of bad) as he wasn’t even targeted by the likes of Barcelona dan Munchen. Yet on the other hand our ex Scudetto winning coach is only attracting offers from Saudi.

But on a serious note, I think one of the factors that we didn’t hire De Zerbi as he had a signing fee back then.

  7. It seems like this management didn’t get enough insults from San Siro fans.

You replace a mediocre coach with another one that has zero experience in Italian football and barely two complete seasons as a head coach then you expect some results.

Terzic inherited a great Dortmund team from Lucien Favre and Marco Rose yet he lost the BundesLiga for the worst version of Bayern Munich in the last game of his first year and was totally humbled last season that even reaching the CL final wasn’t enough for Dortmund to trust his for another year.

Milan needs an experienced manager, if you like Dortmund and the German football style then go for Lucien Favre he was able to create a competitive team everywhere he went and he worked across three leagues so he will definitely have more experience to deal with Italian football than Terzic.

No more experimental choices, no more Cardinale idiocy.
