Gianluca Di Marzio has reignited hopes that Sandro Tonali could come back to AC Milan at some point in the future.
Earlier in the week, Tonali confirmed that he wouldn’t rule out a future return to Serie A, because Italy is his home. However, he does not think that it will be any time in the immediate future given how well things are going at Newcastle.

Juventus have been perhaps the most concretely linked with an attempt to try and bring Tonali back to Italy, but – if Gianluca Di Marzio is to be believed at least – there is only one club in the midfielder’s mind.
“Tonali still dreams of returning to Milan in his heart; he left against his will. It was the club’s decision, and he couldn’t bring himself to say no to Newcastle’s offer. He wouldn’t want to return to Italy, he’d like to return to Milan; that’s different,” he said (via MilanInside).
It is perhaps not a surprise given that he is a boyhood fan of the club and his sale is still a painful issue for many. However, the desire to reunite and being able to actually pull the deal off from a financial standpoint are two very different things.
Give Newcastle a call and offer a swap, Leao for Tonali.
Even if that were a possibility, where would Sandro even fit into this midfield …
As much as I like Tonali, the current midfield is way too stacked for him to fit anywhere.

They are 11th in the EPL with 9 points from 7 games. Its not like they have a chance to win the UCL or the EPL. Maybe they can win one of those domestic cups.

Tonali is a loyal guy.
I don’t see him leaving Newcastle, who stood by him when his suspension happened, before his contract ends.
He’s also doing VERY WELL over there, so Newcastle have no reason to sell him.
Earliest we’ll see him back is in Summer of 2028, when his current contract runs out.
Leave against his will? Hahahaha, it was all him; the degenerate needed a big cash infusion to pay off his gambling debts. He got an offer and went running to it. Milan took the wise move of accepting and reinvesting the money. Some good moves, some less so, but Pulisic was one that they bought with the Tonali windfall.
Correction – 2 good moves and 10 misses. They went and replaced Tonali with Reijnders, RLC and Musah. That midfield got us 8th lsst season, lmao.

he’s happy with us in Newcastle for now, but he is a good milanese boy and I am sure at some point he’ll return. But things are going too well for him now. He is the best CDM in the Premier league and next world cup he will show the world as well 💪

Just recently, Milan said YES to Como’s offer for Theo. Theo, unlike Tonali, could bring himself to say NO to their offer and stayed at Milan.

Tonali had either 3 or 4 years left on his Milan contract, if he said NO Milan couldn’t sell him against his will. So spare me the revisionist history.
