Diario AS: Milan and Arsenal enquire about Girona winger with €30m clause

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been linked with another Girona player after their outstanding campaign in LaLiga, with a report claiming that Viktor Tsygankov is a target.

According to Diario AS in Spain, Tsygankov is attracting the interest of some top clubs around Europe after a season with eight goals and seven assists in 30 league matches for Girona who got themselves a spot in the next edition of the Champions League.

The 26-year-old is not thinking much about his future and is concentrating on the Ukrainian national team ahead of the European Championship, which will be held in Germany, having told his agent that he does not want distractions.

However, there are clubs that are already beginning to bid for him. He has a contract until 2027 with Girona, although his termination clause (€30m) is affordable, but he will not force an exit because he and his family are very happy at Girona.

Two clubs that have already approached Tsygankov’s entourage are Arsenal and Milan. Both clubs, like Girona, will compete in the next edition of the Champions League and this is something that is essential to him. Tottenham are keen too, but they will play in the Europa League.

It is clear that Girona is going to try to retain Tsygankov at any cost having even made him an offer to extend his contract with a pay rise but they were unable to do so. After the Euros, it seems things could heat up.

Speaking of Girona, Artem Dovbyk became the latest striker to be linked with a move to Milan earlier today, as a report claimed he would be tempted by the move.

  1. Should have bought him years ago, I suspect nothing in this but that’s sad because he’d have been a perfect acquisition.
