Di Marzio: Milan collected €47m from Champions League participation in 2021/22

AC Milan’s participation in the Champions League this past season earned them €47m, but they will be hoping for even more next season. Indeed, there is scope for some more money from the competition.

The Rossoneri secured their return to the esteemed competition thanks to their 2-0 win against Atalanta last season. One year later, they have also managed to win the Scudetto and that means they will be in Pot 1 for the group stage draw in UCL.

In short, Milan have been very successful in the last few years but there’s scope for more revenue from the Champions League. As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, they collected a total of €47m from the competition, which can be put into contrast with Juventus who got €79m and Inter who got €65m.

The revenue is decided by a few factors, such as the results in the competition and historical ranking. Milan got €3.7m for their results (which is quite poor), €17m for historical ranking as well as €6m and €4.3m from the market pools (TV rights).
